Sun Valley Resort, ID is ready for its 83rd winter season with the River Run side of Bald Mountain and Dollar Mountain opening at 9:00 am on Thanksgiving Day, November 22. Bald Mountain will have the lifts of River Run, Lookout Express, and Christmas, Roundhouse Express Gondola, and the Kinderspielplatz rolling that morning. Upper College, Lower College, Sunset Strip, 42nd Street, Lower River Run, Mid River Run, and Roundhouse Lane will be open, with potentially more added, weather and snow conditions permitting. Dollar Mountain will have the Quarter Dollar lift ready to take skiers and riders up to the two terrain parks of Prospector and Mineshaft, along with the runs of Poverty Flats and Quarter Dollar.

The delicious Thanksgiving buffet at the remodeled Sun Valley Inn is from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and will include the traditional fare of turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salads, and desserts. The Sun Valley Jazz Trio featuring Leana Leach, Ted Dyer, and Brad Hershey will provide that cozy ambiance while dining in the Limelight Room. Tickets are available at the Sun Valley Guest Center, online or at the door. The Ram, Gretchen’s, Konditorei, and the Sun Valley Club are offering Thanksgiving specials throughout the day.
Guests can also enjoy bowling at the Sun Valley Bowling Alley, ice skating on the year-round outdoor ice rink, catching a movie at the Opera House, relaxing at the Spa, and enjoying après ski at the River Run Day Lodge.
