Sunday River, ME turned on the snow guns early this morning. The temperatures dipped well into the 20’s and it was game on from there. The forecast is calling for a warm up this week, but the resort promised to make snow whenever they could and that’s exactly what they did.

It doesn’t look like the resort will be making more snow anytime soon, but it’s good that they ensured the working order of their system. We are hoping that the forecast changes and cold temperatures return to the East.

Sunday River, ME Press Release:

Cue the Snowguns

In the early morning of October 17, temps dipped well into the 20’s and that was our cue from Mother Nature. Snowmakers blasted the snowguns on T2 until just after sunrise. This wasn’t a test (like on September 29). This was the real deal. Despite the warmup we see at the end of the week, we turned on the guns because we promised to make snow at any chance we can. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

Got the itch to make some early season turns? We get it. We do too. That’s why we’re introducing the Kickstarter Pass for all you early-season diehards out there.
