Swell Saturdays: Amazing Aerial Footage of Surfing Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz, CA

SwellBrains | | Post Tag for SurfSurf

This footage was shot on July 21st, 2013 from a remote control DJI Phantom quadcopter mounted with a GoPro at Steamer Lane, Santa Cruz, CA.  It’s very cool to see what Steamer looks like from the sky.  This guy is good with the heli.  He’s able to follow a few rides and get some great shots.

We need to get him back to Steamer’s on a day that’s pumping with overhead surf.  That video would be impressive.

This size in this video was actually good for aerial shots, though, as you get to see how close the surfers are to the cliff and the cliff and spectators upon it give some quality perspective.
