Bodies of Couple from Aspen Found on 14,000′ Capitol Peak, CO | 3rd & 4th Deaths on Capitol Peak This Summer

The bodies of a couple from Aspen who have been missing since Sunday were found today at the base of the north face of 14,000′ Capitol Peak in Colorado, according to officials and TheSummitDaily.com. Mountain Climber’s Body Located on 14,000′ Capitol Peak, CO

Last Sunday, August 6th 2017, a mountain climber fell to death from 14,137′ Capit0l Peak.  The climber was 35 year old Jeremy Shull of Parker Colorado. Only a few weeks remaining in our 2015 climbing season. There are still good conditions to be found on the north side glaciers. And for those looking for a non-technical ascent, the Clear Creek route is always an option. Mt. Shasta is known for it’s alpine beauty and unusual cloud formations that appear. Lenticular clouds in particular often make stunning vistas and are frequent in the fall and winter. We’ve seen plenty of photos of a shrouded Mt. Professional photographer and SnowBrains contributor Matt Bansak had a good flight on June 6th. His pilot decided to give 14,411-foot Mt. Rainier a fly by. The guy got close. Real close. Luckily, Matt had his camera on hand and was able to grab these great images. Rainier is a beast. A special beast. It’s tough to get a good look at her. You’re either too close or too far away.
