Montana Snowpack = 6,600% Of Average Right Now

The National Weather and Climate Center is reporting that some areas of Northwestern Montana are currently sitting on a snowpack (snow water equivalent) of 6,600% of average for todayโ€™s date right now. Whistler Extends Season Til May 30th

Thanks to an excellent snow pack in British Colombia this year, Whistler is planning on extending the spring season by an extra week.  This means that the resort will remain open until May 30th.     This seasonโ€™s snowfall statistics at Whistler: 1177cm (463in) of total snowfall 292cm (115in) so far this march The 10 year average snowfall is 1163cm [โ€ฆ]

Current Colorado Snowpack is Insanely Above Normal

The current Colorado snowpack as measured by SNOTEL is off the charts. One reading yesterday even came up with southwest Colorado having a snowpack 8,650% of normalโ€ฆ Today, the SNOTEL graph left that 8,650% zone without a value so we can assume that was some sort of error. Nevertheless, north central Colorado is sporting a snowpack 585% of average and thatโ€™s hugely above average. Central Colorado is at 323% of average, southwest Colorado is at 151% above average, and south central Colorado is at 233% above aver

Colorado Snowpack 140% of Normal Right Now:

Coloradoโ€™s mountain snowpack is 140% of normal right now. Itโ€™s up about 80% right now as compared to this time last year.
