Since Saturday evening we’ve had a mix of sun and snow resulting in a good 60cm of fresh powder. There was some early season snow especially in the Arlberg region a couple of weeks ago but most of that has been melted and rained away. So if you want to find some interesting skiing and touring – go up high! the Kaunertal is a glacier ski area opened most of the year. It’s located in south/west Austria right on the Italien boarder. Ski touring to the Weissseespitze you actually skin partly through Italy before reaching the Peak. The Gepatscherferner glacier is humongous and the biggest in the eastern Alps. Stubai Glacier: Huge Booters and Crevasse Exploring The Stubaier Glacier is just a 30 min drive south from Innsbruck. It boasts the best pro Park in the Word at this time of year. It’s south facing and located at around 3000m elevation. The world elite riders and skiers have flocked to Stubaital to hit the huge jumps and rails in Stubai Zoo terrain park. Weather has been perfect this week sun and blue skies with some gusty wind at times. The Stubai Glacier offers a huge amount of terrain and slopes. At the moment 900m vertical runs are possible.
