Alta is for Skiers | Judge Dismisses Snowboarders’ Lawsuit Alta Ski Area is known for some of the deepest powder on the planet and its policy banning snowboarders from their lifts. Because of this, Alta โSkiโ Area has been in the cross-hairs of Snowboarders for years who wish they could ride the lifts, and now thanks to U.S. District Court Judge Dee Benson, Alta can breathe a sigh of relief. If you havenโt been following the debate for nearly the last year, a group called Wasatch Equality has claimed their 14th Amendment rights were being violated by Alta Ski Area for not allowing them […] Industry News Kyler Roush | September 23, 2014 3 Comments

Snowbird, UT Conditions Report | Big Pow on June 18th Today it was hard to discern between it being April 18th or a June 18th powder day. The deciding factor ended up being a couple of things. Green trees everywhere being crushed by the weight of a foot of new snow and the lack of lifts running. As nice as lifts are it certainly isn’t a limiting factor when it comes to skiing creamy SUMMER POW. Line choices of the day included: Silver Fox through Rock Chute, Run-out of North Chute, Tram Cables, Run […] Conditions Report Kyler Roush | June 18, 2014 2 Comments
Alta, UT Conditions Report: Closing Day, May 4th Alta has a 101″ base right now. They’ve gotten 432″ of snow this season and the place is still looking good. They had a great closing day and this video proves it. If you haven’t heard of it, Alta threw the 2nd annual Frank ski competition in the end of April. This is clearly the coolest ski competition on the planet. It’s basically a chance to get weird in Utah. Naked skiing, crazy tricks, costumes, and general weirdness. This is a ski party not to be missed. […] Conditions Report SnowBrains | May 6, 2014 0 Comments

Blower Dust on Crust @ Alta, UT | Conditions Report, Photo Tour Even as the snow started falling in Tahoe, I made my way east to Utah to continue in my search of snow, and I was not disappointed in any way today at Alta. The snow started out slow this morning, a dusting on some very firm snow. However, by noon the snowfall rate increased, as did the stoke factor. Alta was all-time today, that is for someone who has been skiing Squaw all winter, with blower […] Conditions Report Jesse Cassidy | March 26, 2014 1 Comment
