El Colorado, Chile Conditions Report: Fast, Rocky and Firm Two weeks ago El Colorado and most of Central Chile received their first significant snowfall of the season, finally allowing the resorts to open after a long wait. Nearly two weeks later though without snow and El Colorado and neighboring Valle Nevada and La Parva are in dire need of snow once more. Portillo, Chile Conditions Report: Flipping Good The snow is really fun right now. The groomers are in great shape. Garganta is a blast. It’s nice and chalky and really edge-able. You have to step over some rocks to get into it, but after that it’s great. Roca Jack and Caracara have good coverage but the north facing aspects are very sun affected from the warm temperatures lately. Their is some really fun skiing to be had off the traverse on the south facing aspects. You can still find some soft nice snow. The Lake Run is also skiing really well. I talked to some people who went heli skiing on Saturday and they said it was “awesome!” […] Conditions Report Andrew Rumph | July 27, 2015 0 Comments

Chile Surf & Culture Report: Barreling Waves & Penguins I spent the first two weeks of July surfing at Punta de Lobos, Chile. I surfed with two penguins on my second day. The water is crystal clear, cold (56ºF), and full of waves. This may be one of the most consistent waves in the world since a large point to the south of the wave blocks the prevailing south winds. The only thing that ruins the wave here is a north wind, which we unfortunately got a healthy dose of this July. When I was here last October, the wave was great 20 out of 21 days. This month for me it was 50/50. […] Surf Miles Clark | July 18, 2015 0 Comments
