ON3P Jeffrey 122 Ski Review The ON3P Jeffrey 122 is the ultimate soft snow ski! I skied this ski everyday for the last seven weeks in Japan, and it handles bottomless snow with grace and stability. The tip and tail are playful, making the ski easy to maneuver in tight trees. The 50cm of rocker in the tip allow for effortless flotation in everything from deep blower snow to hot, heavy pow. Additionally, ON3P makes very durable, heavy-duty skis. I somehow managed to take the Jeffrey 122 over plenty of exposed rocks, resulting in very little base damage. If you are looking for an everyday ski, the Jeffrey 122 might not be your best bet. The 122mm waist combined with the softer flex, make the ski mostly powder specific. Gear Review: Smith I/O7 Goggles Smith Optics has been making snow goggles for over 50 years. In 2007 they released the worldโs first rimless interchangeable goggle, the I/O. Seven years later, they re-designed it once more, giving birth I/O7. The idea behind I/O7 was to make a high quality, easy to use, and reliable goggle. It employs an efficient minimalist design that reduces weight and moving parts. The I/O7 is a medium/large fit, filling the gap between the smaller I/O and the larger I/OX. Even though I have a smaller face, I found the I/O7 more comfortable than the I/O because it has less curvature. Another thing to note is that the goggles come up high, which reduces gaper gap, […] Gear Review Liza Sarychev | March 10, 2015 0 Comments
Gear Review: 2015 Dalbello Lupo SP ID Ski Boots Getting properly fitted in the Dalbello Lupo changed my skiing and unlike my friends who complained about painful ski boots, I couldnโt wait to put mine on. Made from Dalbelloโs KR2 mold, the Lupo is a descendant of the original three-piece Flexon design, which in my opinion has many advantages over the traditional overlap boot. In an overlap design, the flex is In a three-piece design the flex is governed by bending of the tongue, which results in a more progressive flex, (softer at first, stiffer as you keep flexing) thatโs […] Gear Review Liza Sarychev | February 26, 2015 0 Comments
Atomic Automatic 109 Ski Review For the 2014-2015 season, Atomic has expanded their extremely successful Automatic model into three different widths: a 102, 109 and 117. They still have that Automatic shape you know and love, and now you can choose the size that fits your style and the conditions you ski in most often. The 109 is the most versatile ski in the Automatic lineup. It’s a great ski for any and all snow conditions, and it is light enough to be a good touring ski. It is fun and playful and can also carve, but it is not stiff enough for heavier skiers who like to go fast. I tested the Atomic Automatic 109 in a wide variety of conditions over the course of 40 ski days at Nevados de Chillan, Las Leรฑas […] Gear Review Lee Lyon | February 5, 2015 0 Comments
