Tahoe Snow Totals & Photos From Today:

Lake Tahoe got a bit of a storm yesterday. The highest forecasted snow totals were in the 10 inch range and Sugar Bowl is reporting that. Everywhere else got much less. Most ski resorts only got 4 inches.The good news is that it’s cold. Damn cold. Kirkwood is 0F right now and Squaw is reporting 4F right now. Kirkwood Opening Day [Yesterday] Video:

Kirkwood opened for the 2013/14 winter season yesterday with one chair and two trails open. It looks like it was a good groomer day at the ‘wood. Kirkwood is one of only 3 Tahoe ski resorts open right now (Boreal, Heavenly). Squaw is going to open on Wednesday bringing the number to 4. Kirkwood OPENS Tomorrow! | ←Photos from Today

Kirkwood ski resort in California is set to open tomorrow. This will be the 3rd ski resort to be open in Lake Tahoe after Boreal opened a couple weeks ago and Heavenly opened this weekend. Tahoe Storm Delivers: 18” Storm Total @ Kirkwood

Kirkwood ski resort faired the best from this storm. Their base elevation of 7,800-feet had a lot to do with that. Kirkwood got 8” of new snow out of this storm at the base and 18” of new snow up top. Kirkwood has ruled out opening on Friday (they were talking about it yesterday), but hopes to open as soon as they can after Friday.
