Headwall, Mountain Run, & Lower Mountain Close @ Squaw Today

Snow is melting away fast at Squaw Valley. High temperatures were in the 60 everyday this week and you can tell. Waterfalls, creeks, and cascades are ubiquitous at Squaw right now. It’s loud out there with all the water flowing. The lower mountain is losing about a foot of snow per day. This melting has lead to the Mountain Run winding down to a 3 foot wide strip of snow that doesn’t actually connect to the base area any longer. Opening top to bottom this Wed Dec 11 – Squaw Valley twitter Squaw will be opening the Siberia Chair and the 3.2-mile Mountain Run to achieve this top to bottom status.
