Mt. Baker, WA to REOPEN Thursday w/ 2-Feet of New Snow Mt. Baker ski resort in Washington state closed due to a lack of snow on March 8th and hasn’t been open since. Today, Baker announced that they will be reopening this Thursday, April 16th. They just got 2-feet of new snow and that was just enough to reach the base depth they need to restart operations. Mt. Baker CLOSES Due Lack of Snow: Mt. Baker ski resort in Washington, normally home to the deepest, most snow in North America/the world, has closed today, March 8th, 2015, due to a lack of snow. They are reporting that they will reopen if/when they get more snow. If they do reopen, it’ll be weekends only. It’s been a rough year in Washington and the current forecast is showing nothing but hot weather. If you have a Mt. Baker season pass you can ski at Mt. Hood Meadows for free for 5 days.
