17″ of Snow Forecast for Las Lenas, Argentina Next 3 Days: Las Lenas, Argentina is having the season that so many people have dreamed about for so long. It’s been a bit windy and stormy this year (read: Marte closed, there are no trees here, white out, basically staying home and not skiing) but some long time locals are saying it’s the best season since 2011.It’s been snowing for 3 days or so, then clearing up for a week or so. VIDEO: Full-On Big Mountain Powder Skiing This Week in Canada! Trevor Sexsmith of PerpetualSki.com just sent us this video last night and we’ll have to say that we’re impressed. This is the second big line this guy has skied this summer in powder snow. The previous line was in Banff and was a biggie. He thinks that this one was even bigger. The line is this video is called 3/4*. *”It is more accurately known as the 3/3.5 couloir, as it is between peak 3 (Bowlen, 10,078โฒ) and peak 4 (Tonsa, 10,016) of the over 10,000 foot peaks encircling Moraine Lake. However, there is another couloir, but on a west aspect SnowBrains | September 9, 2015 1 Comment
Bariloche, Argentina Conditions Report: Powder Tornado Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina got 12-20″ of snow last night. We woke up to snow all over in town. It doesn’t snow in town very often. A couple times per year, tops. We knew it was going to be a great day on the hill. The upper mountain was covered in 12-20″ of absolute blower snow. The freezing level was somewhere around sea level last night creating uber dry faceshot producing snow all over the mountain. Nubes was closed all day due to wind which left the entirely of Nubes to the hiking crowd. On our first run, one of our crew triggered a small avalanche that took him for a ride. Be smart out there.
