Conditions Report
Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina got 12-20″ of snow last night. We woke up to snow all over in town. It doesn’t snow in town very often. A couple times per year, tops.
We knew it was going to be a great day on the hill.
The upper mountain was covered in 12-20″ of absolute blower snow. The freezing level was somewhere around sea level last night creating uber dry faceshot producing snow all over the mountain.
Nubes was closed all day due to wind which left the entirely of Nubes to the hiking crowd.
On our first run, one of our crew triggered a small avalanche that took him for a ride. Be smart out there. There are definitely wind slabs and storm slabs out there right now and the cold will likely keep them around for a few days.
We spent the day hiking and skiing laps on Nubes. The snow was soft, it was dry, and it was spectacular.
