Snowfall In August On Monarch Pass In Colorado

On Thursday August 3rd, Colorado saw snowfall on the top of the high mountain Monarch Pass.  Local drivers commented that conditions changed as they drove up the pass and temperatures dropped.   Rain turned into freezing rain, turned into pea sized hail, turned into a slush-rain-snow with motorists fishtailing in the icy slush. Aug. 21st, 2015, Dustin Clark storm skiing outside Banff! First fresh turns of the 15/16 season in North America that we have seen! Cheers! Photo: Rance Tuff via powderchasers.com It snowed so much in Canada last weekend that some crazies even went skiing. Well, it wasn’t quite enough to ski, but these guys skied it anyways. Alberta, Canada got a healthy dosage of snow last week and people freaked out and loved it. They even got snow right in town in Calgary. Regardless, snow in August is damn cool. Skiing fresh snow in August is almost unheard of. Good work, boys.
