Whistler-Blackcomb Report: Bluebird Saturday Shred Fest In the days leading up to this last weekend, the weather window between spring storms at whistler shifted in our favor. Saturday and Sunday were projected to have mostly bluebird conditions with a shallow dusting of wet spring pow. The lower portion of Blackcomb was either overcast or a complete white-out, and the snow was quite possibly the worst sticky wet snow I’ve ever skied. The upper lifts took a good hour to open after the gondolas started loading people up, so we got stuck skiing the leftover sloppy sludge practicing our face-plant skills. In order to avoid further slush […] Conditions Report Bevan Waite | May 13, 2014 0 Comments
Whistler-Blackcomb | Powder Skiing | April 27th Whistler has been hit with a more than decent amount of snow this spring. Last Sunday was a classic pseudo powder day at whistler. I say “pseudo” because in the morning, it was really more like deep dust on crust. The snow was so darn light, even with fat sticks, you would plunge through to the rain crust underneath. Nonetheless, the weather warmed up and settled the fluffy […] Bevan Waite | May 1, 2014 2 Comments
9-15 Feet of Swell Leads to 9-15 Feet of Snow | Whistler 2013/14 The latest in Under the Weather skiing series brings more face shots than you can shake a stick at, deeper powder than you could swim thorough, and higher flying than should be humanly possible. But it wasn’t always in the cards… This winter was looking bad. Really, really bad. But like most […] SnowBrains | April 27, 2014 1 Comment

VIDEO: Mid-Winter Whistler, B.C. Update: This winter has been rough so far for the Whistler area. With low snow and storms far and few in between, we have spent these early months of winter trying to chase the powder from Revelstoke to Baker. Although it always hasn’t been a success it is always an adventure. Scoping new zones, seeing different snowpacks, and working in a group dynamic always makes things interesting.
