December’s record-breaking snowfall across the Sierra Nevada took snowfall in the Tahoe area to 71% of its seasonal average. The even better news is that the three snowiest months are still to come!

Today’s Fun Fact: According to our friends at @findopensnow, Tahoe has already picked up 71% of its seasonal snowfall average. Even better news is that the 3 snowiest months on average are still ahead of us!

The Tahoe area received a massive 214″ of snow in December, smashing the area’s previous record of 179″ from 1970.
