While it’s no secret that it’s been a dry start to the season so far, this map kind of brings it home. The current Tahoe snowpack is 5% of average. Not good!

There are ski resorts that have managed to open, albeit on man-made snow.

There is however a system moving in with the potential to bring snow. South Tahoe resorts such as Heavenly could see up to 6″, although further north, Squaw Valley might only see a couple of inches.

Further south, Mammoth, June Mountain, and right down to Bear Mountain could see in excess of 6″.

We’re not worrying yet, it’s still early in the season. Last year we had a dry start, mammoth even put back their opening, and that turned out alright, didn’t it?!
