The mercury reached 117°F in St. George, UT, yesterday, unofficially tying the all-time record high for the state of Utah.

However, given the significance of this record, the record remains unofficial at this time, pending a more thorough investigation of the data.

The record high of 117ºF was set on July 5, 1985, also in St. George.

Most of Utah is currently under an ‘excessive heat warning’.
