Ski patrollers at Silverton Mountain, CO got an early taste of winter today. A recent storm left the resort with enough snow for these patrollers to take the first lift-served powder turns of the season. The chairlift is scheduled to open on December 27th, but some upper-mountain terrain could open before that.
The forecast calls for snow throughout the week. Along with that, temperatures are expected to stay cold, which will help preserve the snow that they do receive.
