Throwback Thursday | That One Time it Snowed at Squaw Last Season

Jesse Cassidy |

It’s Thursday, and hence its everyones favorite day to reminisce on the past with the classic #throwbackthursday. We here at Snowbrains thought we would get on the Throwback Thursday Train and highlight some of our best videos from last season, and with roughly four months to go before winter here in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re all itching for snow. So this week we go back to last April, where we had one of our best days of the season in Tahoe.Eric april

Last season in Tahoe was rough, like really rough, just like the season before, and the season before that…however last season did kind of redeem itself, kind of, in April of all months. And on April 1st, we had arguably the best day of the last three years, with about 2 feet of dry powder all over the mountain, and pretty much no crowds, it was the best day all year in Tahoe hands down.

This year Mother Nature takes home the win for best April Fools Day joke we’ve ever seen. Don’t let it snow in Tahoe all year, and when it does make it rain up to 7000′ every time. But on April Fools Day, open the skies up and let it dump 2+ feet in the basin. Well played Mother Nature, well played. The deepness of the pow at Squaw yesterday was certainly no joke, but it was a stupid good time. – Eric Bryant
