Vail Mountain introduced commemorative pins for skiers who achieved 25, 50, 75, and 100 ski days for the 23/24 season. To be awarded a pin, you needed to ski the corresponding days at Vail Mountain from November 10, 2023, until the end of the season. Skiers and boarders with the corresponding days could pick up their pin from ticket office on the mountain by showing their ski pass.

The pins were a huge hit this season and were in fact so popular that Vail Mountain ran out of 100-day pins before the end of the season and before its 100-day Club party on April 10. This left some regular visitors eligible for the pin rather disappointed, venting their frustration on the resort’s various social media channels. One Instagram user, @jusmoneyho, stated “Huge #VailFail running out of pins for everyone that dedicated the days to the mountain. Vail should come through on that,” while Jaaron Grauel wrote on Facebook “Yeah too bad they ran out of 100 day pins….” Some received a free facemask by Helly Hansen instead but it seems that a lot of people had their heart set on the 100-day pin.

Vail Mountain will look into a way of making up to those skiers and boarders who missed out on their pin. Due to the huge success, Vail Mountain will bring back the commemorative pins next season.

“We were thrilled with the response our guests had to the launch of our milestone pin program, from 25 days all the way to 100 or more days at Vail Mountain. This program gave us the opportunity to celebrate our loyal skiers and riders here at Vail, and we’re pleased to share that the program will be returning next year.”
