Report from April 19, 2023
On Wednesday morning, we ventured straight into the Valley of the Tusk.
The Tusk is an impossible peak that is one of the Big 5 of the Chugach Mountains, AK
- The Tusk
- The Sphinx
- Pontoon
- Meteorite
- Dimond
We flew straight to the gorgeous and intimidating ramps on the west side of the Valley of the Tusk.
The first run was intense.
A long, steep, sluff factory with exposure and excellent snow.
From there, we bumped just north and hit the very next ramp.
Same story as ramp 1.
Delectable.
Our 3rd run was a wide-open slope with the best snow I’ve skied in Alaska all season.
Too fun.
Amazing day.
Thanks, Alaska.
