A huge skier-triggered avalanche on Taylor Mountain in the Bridger-Teton National Forest was caught on video by ski guide Kim Havell yesterday, Wednesday 15th January.

Havell was guiding from Mail Cabin Creek on Wednesday when she saw the south face of the mountain release. The slide is estimated to have had a 96″ deep crown.

A helicopter was flown over the site due to concerns of there being a skier or snowboarder caught, but although skier triggered, nobody is believed to have been injured.

“It appears there were tracks that went in and hit the bed surface and exited the side,” Incident Commander Anthony Stevens said.
