Whistler B.C. Conditions Report: 10 Straight Days of Snow

Some pillows from today.

Whistler has seen a crazy start to the Spring season with constant snow over the past few days.  In the morning it has been snowing in the valley and as temperatures increase during the day it has been turning to rain on the lower bit of the mountain.  But today it has been snowing pretty constantly to just above the valley floor.  Up high the snow is awesome and with snow at the treeline warming up by the end of the day.  No matter what though the snow is soft and fairly deep everywhere on the upper mountain.

There was lots of deep powder in the trees today.

Today we skied peak chair and the trees off of West ridge down to Red chair.  The snow was really good from the top to the bottom of Red.  It got a little heavier by the afternoon but held out for most of the day.  The pillows and drops were soft and fun.  The snow definitely helped slow you down when landing drops in the trees which was nice.  On some of the steep sections like in Elevator, the snow was a little hard as it sloughed off or slid off.

Snow continuing into the afternoon. No complaints here.

Overall conditions were awesome up there today with lots of powder to be skied.  Looking into the next couple days we have some sun coming and then more snow flurries into the weekend.  Also be sure to check out the World Ski and Snowboard Festival site for tickets to events coming up in a couple weeks!

Getting overhead pow today in the trees
