Whistler B.C. Conditions Report: Alpine Going Off w/ Powder

Snow was good and soft all over the mountain today, and in some pockets it was untracked!

Powder and some more pow.  Whistler has been going off the past couple days.  The most recent storm came in a little warm, creating a little crust most of the way up the mountain, but then it cooled down really quick and left the top with some cold blower snow.  In the alpine the crust layer is not really there and you are just left with some great skiing.

spankeys
Still some good tracks to be had a few days after the new snow in Spankeys
Couloir
Couloir Extreme looking pretty good.

Today on Whistler and Blackcomb most runs were skied out, but still really soft.  Some areas still held some really good pockets of untracked snow.  I was honestly surprised to see some lines visible from Glacier chair near teetering rock that had not been skied and had awesome snow.  Before this storm a lot of terrain slid and some of the larger ice chunks are still visible so be careful if you are coming out of anything with some speed.

peak
Went and lapped Peak Chair in the afternoon. Was tracked out, but skied fast and soft.

On Monday I skied in the backcountry around Pemberton and was probably one of the best days riding of the season, so get out there and enjoy it.  Later this week we are going to see another system roll in so get stoked for some more good times ahead!
