Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Nevada | 3-6″ of Snow Is Expected To Fall This Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Nevada through 11am this morning. A cold front is expected to persist through the morning, which will lower snow levels.

Snow totals are expected to be 3-6″ in the mountains.

Snow levels are expected to lower to 5500ft this morning, but all substantial accumulations will be over 6000ft.

will fall over western and central areas, with lighter 
precipitation expected along and east of highway 93.

Northern Elko County-

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT THIS
MORNING...

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...1 to 4 inches to valley areas above 6000
 feet. A dusting to 1 inch below 6000 feet. Mountains could see 3
 to 6 inches. Most of the moderate snow will fall over western
 and central areas, with lighter precipitation expected along
 and east of highway 93.

* TIMING...Snow levels are lowering to around 5500 to 6000 feet
 this morning. Showers will taper off by mid to late morning.

* IMPACTS...Outdoor recreation will likely be impacted, especially
 in the higher elevations. Passes and summits will likely see
 light accumulations of snow and slush this morning.
