Yosemite National Park, California, closed at midnight last due to a major winter storm. The park will remain closed until Sunday at noon (possibly later).

Visitors in the park should leave as soon as possible and no later than noon tomorrow, March 1.

The National Weather Service forecasts several feet of snow throughout the park (Badger Pass may receive over seven feet!) with very high winds.

It is not the first time Yosemite National Park has closed due to snow. Due to severe winter conditions, it closed on Saturday, February 25, 2023. It also closed on February 5, 2019, when seven feet of snow fell in the Sierra Nevada Mountains over four days, and the heavy snowfall downed trees across the park.
