They’re celebrating a major spring storm at Copper Mountain, Colorado, after 18 inches of snow fell overnight, with a further 5″ since the measurement this morning. Needless to say, the conditions on the mountain are unreal. Copper received the most snow of any resort in North America in the last 24 hours.

Copper announced yesterday that the resort will extend the 2023-24 season into May and stay open as long as possible. 18 inches of snow will certainly help.

Now through the end of the season, Copper is offering $99 lift tickets through closing day and 40% off Friends and Family passes, which equates to skiing and riding for as low as $60 a lift ticket. You can look forward to a number of spring events over the coming weeks. On Thursday, April 18, Copper will host a Lleky Hot Laps event, inviting women to join a community park meetup in Peace Park. Copper Live takes place on Saturday, April 20, along with the final uphill race of the Mammut Uphill Race Series.

Copper Mountain’s annual closing weekend celebration, Sunsation, will still be held on April 27-28. Sunsation will offer free live music performances from Ripe and The Main Squeeze in Copper’s Center Village in Eagle’s Landing. Sunsation festivities continue with Slush Rush on April 27. Slush Rush is a unique team relay event inviting skiers and riders to join in teams of three to compete in a relay race that combines several snow sport competition favorites, including the halfpipe, border cross course, and a jump and rail section into a pond skim. Registration and more details are available at CopperColorado.com.
