8,730′ Ebbetts Pass (hwy. 4) in the central Sierra Nevada, CA is fully open.  We suspect it opened Friday, but we know for sure it’s been open since Sunday.

Ebbetts Pass provides access to some incredible skiing.  So good that we have a buddy who named his kid after the place.

  1. Yes, the pass is open. Sunday we skied Highland Peak accessing via the PCT. A beautiful 2500 vertical foot ski with a 35 pitch for the first 1000 feet or so skiing on 1 to 2 inches of easy turning, push snow.

      1. Approached and exited by crossing Silver Creek at 8000′. We were able to cross creeks on snow-bridges but they were melting quickly. Skied main “Y” from just below summit on NW side.

      2. We crossed the creek over a snow bridge (but they are melting fast) and exited uphill back to where the PCT meets Ebbetts Pass road.
