The 20/21 winter was insane. It started off with some classic low-tide skiing at Palisades Tahoe, formerly Squaw Valley, where I checked off some of my favorite lines – Far Right Rock, Main Air, The Triple, Plake Line.
Then it was time to hit the road. I was lucky to have the opportunity to stay with SnowBrains in Jacksonhole for a couple of weeks in mid-February. The snow was absolutely nuking and it was recorded as the deepest February for the ski area. We were the personification of the t-shirt “ski, eat, sleep, repeat.”
I headed back to Tahoe for some full-on spring skiing conditions in early March. With nothing in the forecast, I hit the road again, heading to Utah and Montana to find the same lackluster conditions. Thankfully, Tioga Pass opened early and I linked back up with SnowBrains and the crew.
We found five-star corn conditions for all of May and the beginning of June as we skied Tioga until we couldn’t ski it anymore. This really turned our winter around. I’ve never had so much fun in my life.
Overall, last winter was very productive and I’m lucky to be surrounded by the right people on and off the hill.
