Aspen ski resort in Colorado will reopen this Memorial Day Weekend.  They haven’t made it exactly clear, but we assume they’ll be open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  However, in their press release, they only truly mention Saturday…

Aspen closed a couple of weekends ago and they have so much snow still laying around that they decided to open up for one more day.  Nice.

Aspen Press Release:

You didn’t really think it was over, did you?

After an extremely brief off season, Aspen Mountain will kick off the summer season Saturday, May 24, with skiing and riding off of Ajax Express.

The Silver Queen Gondola and Ajax Express will spin and all terrain that ends at the Ajax Express will open, including black diamond terrain on Sunrise, Sunset and Blondie’s (and double diamond terrain on Summit.)  Hours of operation for skiing and riding will be 9:00am to 2:00pm, which is an hour earlier than our normal summer operations start time. Snow conditions are expected to be “classic early summer.” The Silver Queen Gondola will run till 4:00pm for foot passengers.  You won’t be able to ski/ride to the base of Aspen Mountain, so downloading on the gondola is required when you’re done shredding.
