A mountain climber was killed in an avalanche on Mont Blanc du Tacul in Chamonix, France today at 11:30am. Â He was from New Zealand.
The avalanche is reported to be 600 meters long. Â Mountain rescue teams reached him but he was already deceased.
Two other climbers from Chamonix search and rescue team PGhM were injured by the avalanche and hospitalized. Â Their injuries are reported to be non life-threatening.
 An avalanche on this same mountain, Mont Blanc du Tacul, killed 9 people in July 2012.
