A Bay Area man from Richmond, CA has been missing in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California since Wednesday, reports the Alpine Country Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas Mullarkey, 65, was reported missing by his wife Jane on at 11:30pm on March 14th, 2018.

Thomas’ car was located by police at Bear Valley ski resort on highway 4 in California.

Thomas is a white male, 5/8″ tall, 150 lbs, grey hair, blue eye, advanced skier, and in good health.

It has snowed over 4-feet since Thomas went missing.

High avalanche danger postponed search and rescue crews until 7am on March 15th.

“At approximately 7 am on March 15th members of Calaveras County Search and Rescue, Alpine County Search and Rescue, resort ski patrol, and Sheriff’s Office personnel resumed the search. An Air National Guard and California Highway Patrol Helicopter were deployed as well, but were grounded almost immediately upon arriving at Bear Valley due to low visibility, wind, and snow. Search conditions continue to be very hazardous due to extreme avalanche conditions.” – Alpine County Sheriff’s Office, today
