Soldier Mountain in Southern Idaho is closing for the winter 2024 season this Saturday, and lift tickets during its last two days of operation, March 22-23, are free.

“Despite the challenges Mother Nature had for us this season, we had a great winter at Soldier Mountain. We are grateful for the region’s support and want to share the stoke with our friends and neighbors.”

– general manager David Alden

Participants must get their free tickets online at soldiermountain.com. RFID cards are required, which cost $5 for guests who don’t already have one.

Soldier Mountain will host a cardboard box derby at 11 a.m. Saturday and encourages guests to bring their homemade cardboard sleds and sculptures.

The resort will also stage a pond skim competition Saturday at 1 p.m.

Although the resort is usually open on Thursdays, it will be closed today, March 21.
