Report from December 12, 2020

Crested Butte, CO – A cold and snowy day at the resort. The storm provided 8″ of fresh snow, making the best conditions of the season so far – much needed for Colorado!

Crested Butte currently has an 18″ base depth with a mix of natural and machine-made snow. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder on most runs. They have 16% of their terrain open, 27 trails, and 8 lifts running. More terrain is expected to be added tomorrow (fingers crossed!). Park crew was building a small terrain park with a jump and several jibs off of the Painter Boy lift that is expected to open tomorrow morning.

International and Twister are providing the best snow and side hits. With more terrain being added daily, expect better snow conditions on trails without a man-made base, although there will be obstacles.
