According to Kriesbote, an unmanned maintenance basket collided with an emptyย cable car after a chain hoist broke atย Zugspitze ski resort in Germany today.
No one was injured in the accident.

Zugspitze ski areas 10 lifts are located on the Zugspitze mountain.
The accident occurred during a routine maintenance operation.
The broken chain caused a chain reaction that ledย to the maintenance basket colliding with the cable car.
This incident is under investigation.
The cable car manufacturer Garaventa, the cableway supervisor, and the experts at Rotec have been notified and involved in the investigation.
The Zugspitze cable car will remain out of service until further notice.ย
The cog railway and the glacier railway to Zugspitzgipfel continue to be in regular operation.
