Did you eat too much turkey to go skiing or did your home resort delay their Opening Day but still want to get into the spirit of things? Put up your feet, lean back in your La-Z-Boy, turn on your device, and get into the swing of all things winter sport by streaming some FIS events this long weekend. Here is what’s on with regards to the FIS World Cup Circuit and if you have a VPN, the world is pretty much your oyster:

Freestyle Slopestyle — Stubai, Austria:

The Freestyle skiers will be battling it out on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Stubai, Austria. Qualifiers were held yesterday, Thursday 23. In the women’s final eight we have Team USA’s Rell Harwood, Italy’s Flora Tabanelli, Switzerland’s Guilia Tanno and Mathilde Gremaud, France’s Tess Ledeux, Team GB’s Kirsty Muir, New Zealand’s Ruby Star Andrews and Finland’s Anni Karava.  Half of the men’s final 16 are from North America, with Canadians Jeremy Gagne, Max Moffatt and Evan Mceachran having qualified and Team USA’s Mac Forehand, Alex Hall, Cody Laplante and Troy Podmilsak having progressed.

Update:

The finals had to be canceled due to inclement weather, meaning that we have an entirely North American podium for the men, with Canada’s Evan McEachran in first place, Team USA’s Mac Forehand in second place, and his teammate Alex Hall in third place.

The women’s event was won by Switzerland’s Mathilde Gremaud, second place went to Tess Ledeux from France and third to Ruby Star Andrews from New Zealand.

Friday, November 24, will see the spring Cross Country races, Saturday, November 25, the 10km race followed by the 20km on Sunday. November 26. Team USA will have Jessie Diggins, Rosie Brennan, Julia Kern, Lauaren Jortberg, Novie Mccabe, James Clinton Schoonmaker, Ben Ogden, Kevin Bolger, Zak Ketterson, Luke Jager, Zanden McMullen, and Gus Schumacher at the start.

Alpine Slalom / Giant Slalom — Killington, USA:

Killington, Vermont, will be hosting the Women’s Giant Slalom and Slalom event this weekend. Can Mikaela Shiffrin take it to 90 World Cup victories this weekend on home soil? Shiffrin has won the Slalom at Killington five out of seven times, so is a strong contender. Petra Vlhova will be champing at the bit to make up for her DSQ in Levi, Finland, two weeks ago. Switzerland’s Lara Gut-Behrami failed to podium in Levi at both Slalom events and the Swiss skier is strong in Giant Slalom as well, so is a podium candidate for both disciplines. It should be an exciting weekend at Killington, with the Giant Slalom on Sunday, November 26, and the Slalom on Monday, November 27.
