How Good Was Las LeƱas, Argentina Last Week? This Good:

SnowBrains |

Our good buddy Matthias Weishcelbaumer has been in Las LeƱas all season. Ā Itā€™s been a trying experience. Ā Especially since Matthias knows exactly how good it can be.

Until last week, LeƱas was looking bad. Ā There was talk of closing early. Ā The bottom lifts had completely melted out and werenā€™t useable.

Then, a miracle happened. Ā 60 inches of blower powder fell on the summit of Las LeƱas and 40 inches came down at the base of the mountain on August 7th. Ā Locals rejoiced. Ā 2 days later on August 9th, they got their well deserved dessert: Ā the Marte Chair opened.

The Marte opened and it was unreal. Ā Big, steep, long faces and couloirs filled with feet of snow.

There hasnā€™t been any real evidence until today. Ā Thanks for the video Mattias.
