Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard resort in Eastern North America and part of POWDR, is pleased to receive a positive snow control announcement from FIS (International Ski and Snowboard Federation), the governing body of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup.

With this announcement, Killington Resort can assure international race teams and ski racing fans traveling to central Vermont for Thanksgiving weekend that both the giant slalom and slalom races will take place as scheduled on November 25 and 26.

“We had a little more cooperation from Mother Nature this year, but as always, this is a testament to Killington’s powerful snowmaking system and expert team. We were able to take advantage of several windows over the past few weeks to run more than 130 guns at a time and lay down enough snow for the world’s best to compete. Athletes from around the globe are on their way to Vermont in the coming days, and the resort and entire Killington community are delighted to welcome them all. With the K-1 Lodge now fully complete and an awesome line-up of live entertainment, the seventh Stifel Killington Cup will be an incredible weekend of competition and camaraderie.”

– Killington President and General Manager Mike Solimano

General admission tickets are available for $10.00 at A portion of all tickets will benefit the Killington World Cup Foundation, providing grants that support winter sports in the Northeast. Limited weekend and Sunday VIP Packages are available through the Killington World Cup Foundation at, gaining fans entry into the Great VIP Tent, in addition to premium seating. All Stifel Killington Cup spectators will need a ticket to gain entry to this year’s event.

Preparation for the race continues on Superstar and Skyelark, with the snowmaking and grooming teams working in unison. This year, we’ve been able to take advantage of new depth technology in our snowcats — enabling us to tell exactly how much snow is underfoot in any given spot — and new low-energy snow guns to streamline the process. Skiing and riding are also available to the public, and the team continues its efforts to expand skiable terrain whenever conditions allow.

There is a full schedule of events at Killington Resort during Stifel Killington Cup weekend available at It includes race start times, concerts by Young the Giant, Matisyahu, Mix Master Mike and 220 KID, the “Doing It All” HERoic Panel focused on women in the ski industry, the ski film “Advice for Girls,” plus information on many free parking and shuttle bus options. Killington strongly suggests not bringing bags to the venue; priority for security screening will be given to those without bags.
