Southern Hemisphere winter is coming. South America has the best ski resorts and the best snow in the Southern Hemisphere.
Many of us can’t make it down to South America for the summer ski season, but just getting updates from down there keeps our curiosity piqued.
Things haven’t revved up too much yet down there, so we’ll start with a sampling of Opening dates for some of the major ski resort of South America:

Valle Nevado, Chile = June 8th
Nevados de Chillan, Chile = June 14th
Catedral, Argentina = June 20th
Las Leñas, Argentina = June 29th
Cerro Castor, Argentina = June 20th
Portillo, Chile = June 22nd
If you haven’t been down to South America to ski, it’s time. As Warren Miller says “If you don’t go this year, you’ll just be one year older when you do.”
