Report from March 17, 2024

Yesterday was St. Patty’s Day and, of course, we went skiing to celebrate.

We got out on the hill at about 1pm and the whole damn mountain was skiing well.

No lift lines anywhere.

We started on Broken Arrow and Tower 16 was amazing.

We then hit Hogsback on Headwall and that was chalky and good.

Then Classic Chute off Headwall and the thing was $$$$.

So we did it again.

Silverado opened for the season this day but we knew the line down there was long so we dared not enter.

Rock Garden on KT-22 held smooth, excellent corn in the waning hours of the ski day.

We even hopped on the Base to Base Gondola and did a run on Roundhouse at Alpine that was fun.

We then came back to KT-22 via the Base to Base and skied a “Big Balls” variation and drifted into the flats at 4:05pm.

It’s very clear that Palisades is going to ski amazingly this week.

Chalky and corny and damn good.

And there are 2 terrain parks open that are gonna go off.

This is the week to be in Tahoe.

Right now, a moderate to big storm is forecast this weekend.

Fingers crossed.

After skiing, we observed the raucous party at Le Chamois on our way to the Auld Dubliner to meet some friends and drink some green beer.

Thanks, California!
