Report from March 25, 2024

Yesterday we had one goal:  backflip off The Palisades.

Unfortunately, the morning saw all the ridges of Palisades Tahoe socked in with clouds.

We cruised around waiting to see what would happen.

We skied a neat mini spine on Silverado with good snow.

The clouds started breaking up around 10am and we hiked up The Palisades.

Once on top, we got to work building an inrun and takeoff but something didn’t feel quite right.

Then 2 somethings didn’t feel right.

Then 3.

After building 2 potential inruns and takeoffs, we reluctantly walked away from the project.

The Tube was looking good so we dropped it and had some fun.

We then hiked up Mainline Pocket and dropped The Spitter.

The clouds came back in and we’d had our fill.

We headed home to rest.

Gosh, I was so tired yesterday…

I’m not sure I could’ve backflipped The Palisades had I wanted to.

I spent the rest of the day aggressively resting, eating as much healthy food as possible, and quaffing water.

A 190º sauna and a few 38ºF cold plunges helped with recovery.

Tahoe has been pure fire since February 1 and it just won’t let up.

Thanks, California!
