NOAA is displaying photographic evidence that Lake Tahoe is above its rim today.  They’re saying it’s 1″ above the rim and the mighty Truckee River is flowing, albeit just barely.

“We know it is hard to believe, but here is photo proof at the Lake Tahoe outlet that the lake is above its natural rim. Lake Tahoe as of April 10th, 2016 was over its rim and began to spill into the Truckee River thanks to this past weekend’s precipitation and snow melt. This is the first time water is reaching the Truckee River from Tahoe since June 14th of last year where the lake just did touch its rim. It was before October 10th of 2014 that any appreciable water spilled out of Tahoe.” – NOAA, today
