Severe Geomagnetic Storm Brings Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) to Below U.S. Canadian Border

A severe G4 Geomagnetic Storm overnight brought Aurora Borealis activity to low latitudes enabling rare Northern Lights views as far south as Madison Wisconsin (43° N).

The images captured by weather stations and ski areas across the northern latitudes of the Lower 48 are out-of-this-world spectacular.
