
South American ski resorts just got buried in snow.
Portillo ski resort in Chile reported 118″ of snow in the past 7 days. Penitentes in Argentina reported 60″ in a few days last week.
All this new snow bumped up opening dates in Chile. El Colorado ski resort in Chile is already open. They opened on June 1st. Many of the other central Chilean ski resort will be opening about 10 days earlier than scheduled.
This is all real freaky because we still have 2 ski resorts open daily in North America… You could ski here, hop on a plane, and ski there tomorrow and not even miss a day of skiing until October…
