Squaw Valley Forecast

for Today & Tomorrow:

NOAA has issued a Winter Storm Warning for above 7,000′ for Squaw Valley that lasts until tomorrow morning at 9am.  Here’s what they’re saying about that storm:

ABOVE 7000 FEET...

* WHAT...Heavy snow occurring. Plan on difficult travel conditions
Expect damage to trees and power lines as well. Additional snow
accumulations of 1 to 3 feet above 7500 feet. Accumulations
below 7500 feet are more uncertain due to variations in snow
levels today, but accumulations up to 6 inches are possible this
morning near 6500 feet with 6 to 12 inches between 6500 and
7500 feet. - NOAA Reno, NV today

Snow levels are forecast to be below the Gold Coast chairlift, so hopefully Gold Coast is sitting a significant amount of new snow by tomorrow morning.

NOAA is calling for am showers then sunny skies on opening day tomorrow.
