Squaw Valley Video Conditions Update + Photo Tour: POW!!!

SnowBrains | | Post Tag for Conditions ReportConditions Report

Things are starting to come alive at Squaw, with upwards of two feet of new snow in the upper elevations and a solid foot and a half at the base.  With the new snow came expanded terrain options, the kangaroo kicker, and lots of smiles.

The Good

  • Trees under Squaw Creek
  • All of Shirley Lake, from the Shirley Chutes to Rainbow Bowl
  • Kangaroo kicker (with a bit of side stepping, thanks Fox for breaking things in!)

The Bad

  • Squaw opening Siberia at 3:00 (good for those who were still there though!)
  • Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but the Squaw game is changing.  The most reliable source of information for openings (as well as opening times) appears to be the Squaw App.  Gone seem to be the days of guessing what will open when.
