A 53-year-old man from Philadelphia died after falling headfirst into a tree well in Shadows, a black diamond tree area at Steamboat Resort, CO on Saturday afternoon, reports Routt County Coroner Rob Ryg.

The skier, identified as Frank Maimone, was found around 2:30 pm, Ryg said. Steamboat Ski Patrol responded and performed CPR. Lifesaving measures were performed all the way to UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs, where unfortunately the man died, Ryg said.
