Alta, Utah just got hit by their biggest storm of the season. They got 34″ of new snow out of this storm and it’s still coming down. Alta now has a 95″ base and they’ve gotten 309″ of snowfall this season. Our reporter Aaron Rice was in the Alta backcountry yesterday and couldn’t believe how deep it was. Winter Chalk: Alta Conditions Update + Photo Tour

After receiving over 6 feet of snow over Christmas week, the skiing continues to rip at Alta with the start of the New Year. Soft wintery snow was to be found all over, with the best turns hanging out off of High Traverse on Collins. Supreme lift also had some fun off the skiers right, as well as skiing upper chair line under Collins.
